Does it make sense to establish unrealistic grand ideals?
It is of great significance!
- It is of great significance!
- What is your dream? Me: “To change the world.”
- It may sound like a joke, but I am serious.
- On a macroscopic level: Humanity has never truly grasped the truth, and countless great achievements made by individuals throughout their lives have been proven wrong decades later. For thousands of years, humans have never obtained the ultimate answer. However, this does not hinder the pursuit of truth. It is precisely the pursuit of truth that propels the advancement of human civilization and continually makes humans wiser. If humans were to give up because they cannot truly grasp the truth, then today’s civilization would not exist.
- On a microscopic level: For individuals, setting lofty goals to change the world may not be achieved even until death. Does that mean it lacks meaning? It is of great significance. This is not the same as the macroscopic level where humans can never grasp the truth or obtain final results. On the journey of exploration and pursuit, you become better, wiser, and that holds great meaning.
On the macroscopic level, the collective pursuit and exploration of truth by humanity is determined by individual efforts on the microscopic level. The macroscopic concept of humanity is not independent but composed of each individual. If every person can establish grand ideals and pursue them throughout their lives, then the rate of civilization progress on a macroscopic level for the entire humanity will be on a significantly larger scale.
